ISO 14001 Certification

In May 2006, NYK SHIPMANAGEMENT PTE LTD (Singapore & Tokyo) Office was awarded the ISO 14001 Certification for Certified Facilities.

ISO 14001 is the international specification for an environmental management system (EMS). It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.

SAVE BUNKER ADDED VALUE AWARD (Outstanding Award and Special Award)

Was awarded by our NYK President, Mr. Koji Miyahara was received by Mr. Pathania (M.D. of NYKSM) and on behalf of the receipients of Save Bunker Added Value Award.

1) Recipient of Outstanding Integrity Award: NYKSM, Mr Mukherjee

Awarded in recognition that the inclusion of save bunker endeavor in SMS manual and engine training will create awareness for saving bunker continuously even after the campaign period.

2) Recipient of Outstanding Intensity Award: NYKSM

Awarded in recognition that it has been reported that NYK Line has instructed 200 vessels on the proposed idea, 125 vessels have made improvement. It is estimated that Tokyo HQ will be able to achieve bunker saving of 1020 tonnes / month (about USD 430,000/ month). Annually, the bunker saving of USD 5.1 million can be expected.
